50,000 Volunteers expected for Big Sunday
by Katie

Today is Big Sunday; an annual event where volunteers from all across Los Angeles gather to help the community by completing projects, such as planting trees, removing graffiti, picking up trash, donating clothes and food, and even building playgrounds and community centers for children. What started out as a community service day has expanded into a community building day as well. Anybody is welcome to volunteer. The main goal of the event is to help anybody in anyway you can.
Last year there were 32,000 people involved in over 300 projects city-wide. This year the expected turn out is 50,000 working on over 400 projects.
