Feeling the pain at the pump?
Saturday, April 28th, 2007The average price at LA gas stations right now is about $3.32. The local Thrifty Gas station in my area is up to $3.40 right now. It’s not the cheapest I’ve seen around, but everyone else is pretty close to the same. I know a handful of commuters who are now relying on the Metrolink(which is possibly facing a fare increase), and buses to get around, rather than driving their own car. Surely there must be somebody out there not charging an arm, a leg, and next month’s entire paycheck at the gas pump, right?
Well, if you ask me, considering we’re up to $3+ a gallon, every place is overpriced and an “arm and a leg” — But there’s a huge difference between paying $3.00 and $3.75
You just gotta know where to find it. Rather than driving all around town to scope out the cheapest prices, there’s a nifty little website called LosAngelesGasPrices.com. For a Los Angeles county commuter, this website will become your best friend.
The website breaks down the cheapest and highest prices for gas by cities within LA county.
Where’s all the cheap gas at right now? According to the website, SantaFe Springs, Norwalk, and Whittier have the cheapest prices, ranging from $3.13-$3.16. As for the highest…see for yourself:

Boy am I glad I don’t live in Signal Hill or Long Beach right now. Yikes!
